SQL SERVER DBA – LOS ANGELES

Sierra Cybernetics is seeking a SQL Server Database Administrator to work for us supporting our Los Angeles Superior Court client.

The duration of the engagement is about 12 months, or longer.

This is a remote position; however, you may have to travel on site or to other courts or conferences on rare occasions.

The Court may wish to offer you full-time direct employment within the first year.

The position is open only to US citizens or green card holders – no sponsored candidates will be considered.

Prefer West Coast time zone candidates.

DBA Contractor Required Skills:

5+ years’ DBA experience working with SQL Server for larger organization(s), (especially government clients) including administration, design, and development skills.

Experience with HA/DR, Always On, backup recovery, and performance tuning.

Proficiency in SQL Server, monitoring, and troubleshooting issues.

Strong T-SQL and PL-SQL skills, as well as proficiency in scripting languages like cron and PowerShell.

Expertise in SSIS/SSAS/SSRS and ability to work with development and infrastructure teams.

Experience working with Oracle databases and Snowflake.

Experience with Azure and/or Oracle Cloud environments.

System-level knowledge of OS, networking, firewalls, etc.

Ability to gather requirements, perform data analysis, and convert requirements into application design.
