Anticipated Salary Range: $130,000 to $169,669 annually, commensurate with experience.

About the Role:

The Vice President of Information Technology (VPIT) provides strategic leadership, innovative vision, and direction for developing and managing all information technology (IT) systems and services that support Mesa Community College’s mission and strategic goals. Reporting directly to the President, the VPIT is a key member of the College's senior leadership team. Ensuring the institution has the technology infrastructure and support necessary to meet its academic and administrative goals is critical. This is an opportunity to be part of positive change and improve IT for the staff, faculty and students at MCC. With inititives related to expanding their network, being creative with next generation learning technologies, and more!

Breakdown of Responsibilities:

Leadership & vision - 30%

Collaboration & communication – 30%

Operations & business processes – 30%

Supervision & development – 10%

Minimum Qualifications:

Academic Pathway

Master's Degree in a teaching field related to area(s) of assignment or a combination of equivalent experience

Four years of experience in an academic leadership and/or supervisory role in higher education and three years of teaching that includes curriculum/coursework development.

OR

Non-Academic Pathway

Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or field related to area of assignment or a combination of equivalent experience

Four years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in field of assignment that includes two years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in IT, with a strong emphasis on strategic planning and service delivery in a complex organizational environment.

Experience in managing large-scale IT operations and services, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data management.

Experience with communicating and maintaining relationships across organizational boundaries with diverse groups of internal constituents and stakeholders; including faculty, staff, students, IT personnel, and external partners.

Experience in contract negotiations with outside vendors and consultants to actualize strategic and operational goals

Proficiency with compliance and regulatory issues related to information technology, such as data privacy and security.

Recent professional experience of implementing current trends in response to issues in higher education IT. Examples may include cloud computing, mobile computing, and digital transformation.

Experience with accreditation and regulatory compliance in higher education.
