Jacobs is much more than just a traditional engineering company.As a vital member and leader within our Southwest Plains Geography , you’ll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, throughout the Southwest, and nationwide. Our transportation projects include traditional design-bid-build projects as well as alternative delivery such as Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC), Construction Manager At Risk (CMAR), and Public-Private-Partnership (P3) projects. As Senior Project Manager in Transportation , you will lead highway/roadway projects of various sizes and complexity, lead teams of transportation engineers and CADD staff, support/mentor junior engineers, support strategic growth initiatives, develop our local and regional transportation practices, and help win new work. Based in our Tempe, Arizona office , our hybrid work environment provides the flexibility to work as an integral member of our Southwest Plains team.Our Senior Transportation Project Manager will:· Oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage, and/or lead preliminary, intermediate, and final highway design projects· Support business development and proposal efforts· Maintain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships· Develop highway designs, calculations, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages· Oversee, manage, and lead task orders under on-call contracts· Provide and manage engineering services during construction including construction observation reports· Assist in development of Design-Build proposal documents· Review design deliverables prepared by a design-build team on behalf of the owner· Identify creative and innovative transportation engineering solutions based on client, project, and site constraints· Provide technical guidance, oversight, and perform quality reviews· Train, direct, and mentor junior engineers· Coordinate project milestones and workload with Project Managers, Design Leads, and Senior Transportation Engineers· Pursue transportation highway projects of various types including alternative delivery projects in Arizona, New Mexico, throughout the Southwest, and nationally#TempeTranspoHere’s what you’ll need :· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering· PE registration in Arizona or the possibility of obtaining Arizona PE registration after joining our team· At least 20 years’ civil engineering experience including substantial highway/roadway design and construction· Experience on large, multidisciplinary highway design projects· Project management and leadership experience as an engineer and a project manager in the transportation design field· Strong client facing project manager with skills delivering design projects and can bring a team together· Strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude· Skilled in developing and delivering technical presentations to stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and/or the public· Well-rounded technical design skills encompassing all contributing disciplines· Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County, or Municipal transportation project experience· Ability and willingness to travel on occasionIdeally, You’ll Also Have:· Existing relationships with ADOT and/or other relevant agencies· Multi-faceted experience including public sector project experience· Alternative delivery project experience including design-build, progressive design-build, and construction manager/general contractor (or construction manager at risk)· Alternative delivery project oversight experience· Experience using OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, and MicroStation· Working knowledge of federal and state design guidelinesAt Jacobs, we’re challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world’s most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
