Description Robert Half is looking for Controller candidates who are looking for work where they will have broad business engagement and impact with a business in the Financial Services field. You might be a good fit for this Controller position, if you can manage the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verify and hold the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively. Located in Kansas City, Missouri, this Controller position will be a long-term contract / temporary opportunity. Work closely with Treasury to provide timely cash flow forecasts

Supervise reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes and tools for the accountable programs

Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities such as ensuring accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting and true-up activities and answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers

Attain comprehension of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

Comparison of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls

Continuous reviewing of actual spend against budget, as well as directing actions needed for any expected shortfalls

Obtain understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners

Review and monitor controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance Requirements - 5+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance

Good understanding of ERP system is highly valued

Exquisite understanding in office and accounting computer systems

Solid understanding of Financial Close Process

Practical knowledge of Prepaids

Experience with bank reconciliations

Cash reconciliations experience preferred

Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

Deep understanding of account reconciliation

Monthly Financial Close experience required

General familiarity with accruals

Demonstrated knowledge of System Implementation

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field

CPA and/or CMA preferred

Prior background in engaging virtually with teams around the globe and providing leadership across finance teams

Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

Skills to assess process and internal control weaknesses and identify improvements

Excellent communication and negotiation skills with experience in establishing trusted advisor/consultant relationships and proven ability to influence Executives and Business Decision Makers
