Accounting Specialist

Description Robert Half is actively looking to hire a skilled Accounting Clerk for a premier organization. In this position, you will be responsible for playing an essential role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), general data entry, and aligning invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers. This position is based in the Tustin, California area.Your responsibilities

Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit

Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

Broadcast financial information to journals and ledgers

Code documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

Put together statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Work with Accounts Payable: vendor invoices and disbursement filing, A/P invoice matching & filing

Requirements

Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized

Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred

Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

Experience with month end closings

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

Journal entries experience

Deep understanding of cash reconciliations

Excellent data entry skills

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
