Position Summary:Fabricates prototype parts, ensuring that the end product conforms to requirements identified on the work order, customer blueprint, and/or specifications.Primary Responsibilities:

Sets up, operates, and maintains, under supervision, equipment required to fabricate basic prototype parts

Works with Senior Engineering Technician to gain experience on all the fabricating equipment and processes we use in the prototype group

Produces prototype fabrications in a timely and quality manner

Maintains accurate records of all time and expenses incurred in the fabrication of each prototype order

Must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Leadership Model

Ensures 6S, housekeeping, and health and safety standards are maintained

May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this descriptionEducation and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Two Year College Degree or applicable Technical Training and Certification is preferred

Fabrication, blueprint reading skills, and equipment knowledge preferred

Strong mechanical aptitude

Ability to exchange basic information with common courtesy

Ability to lift up to thirty pounds on a regular basis

Willingness and ability to travel, as necessaryWork Environment/Work Conditions:

Professional Office Environment

Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor

Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required

Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury
