This position involves operating and maintaining servo-hydraulic load frames for mechanical testing, conducting fabrication and modification of test articles, and coordinating with engineers to ensure proper setup and functionality, with a focus on precision and adherence to standards.location: Chula Vista, Californiajob type: Contractsalary: $36.13 - 50.69 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: High Schoolresponsibilities:

Set up and operate servo-hydraulic load frames (20 - 110 Kip Universal Test Machines) for static and fatigue mechanical properties testing.

Route hydraulic lines between manifolds, test actuators, and hydraulic pump hard lines, inspect for leaks.

Perform functional and operational tests on test articles and setups.

Coordinate with engineers for mechanical modifications to test positions and articles, ensuring adherence to standard practices.

Fabricate, assemble, install, diagnose, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with test equipment.

Provide supplementary sketches or diagrams for mechanical modifications as needed.

Perform periodic preventive maintenance as directed.

Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

Ability to use hand tools for detailed measurements and operate portable power tools and machine tools for preparing and modifying metallic and composite test articles.

Interpretation of design drawings, prints, schematic flow diagrams, and verbal/written instructions.

Application of shop theory to determine practical procedures for work.

Rework, refurbish, and modify parts and equipment as required.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

4-8 years of experience.
