Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $93,002.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. Location: This position is located in INDOT's Greenfield District. Role Overview: This position manages the System Asset team at the INDOT Greenfield District office. Our asset team includes a pavement, bridge, culvert, and ancillary asset engineer who oversees the planning and prioritization of their respective assets. The team also includes a scoping group which works year-round preparing scopes for the upcoming project submissions. The System Asset Manager collaborates closely with the other departments in the District. They work with the Capital Program team on programmed project coordination, organize the development of the maintenance work plan with our Maintenance team and assist with issues that develop during construction. The System Asset Manager also collaborates with the asset engineers in evaluating the Department's engineering policies, recommends revisions, evaluates the impact of changes to engineering policies, procedures and standards having statewide implications and makes recommendations in existing programs. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows:

Participate in the development of goals for the division’s strategic plan, assists in preparing division budgets, and lead an engineering team.

Monitor programs to ensure policy and best practices are actively deployed.

The Highway Engineer Supervisor assures accurate and timely updating of management information systems as they relate to the delivery of the program, and ensures their business rules, policies, and procedures are implemented and maintained as standard business practice in their designated work environments.

What You'll Need for Success: This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.

Must have a Professional Engineer license in Indiana.

Must have an Indiana driver’s license.

Must be able to read and interpret various contracts, plans, laws, administrative rules, and regulations.

Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

Basic knowledge of the agency.

Must be able to read and interpret specifications, standards, and policies and apply them to operations.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Must be able to work independently.

Outstanding interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and establish credibility.

Ability to work with internal and external customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
