What We Are Seeking: A self-motivated, customer-service focused, creative problem-solver who is ethical, professional, and worthy of directing and supervising a team of amazingly hard-working and dedicated social services staff members who are providing a variety of community-based services. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the field of health and/or social services; experience developing and managing fiscally responsible budgets; and grant proposal development, implementation, and reporting.

Additional: The H&SS Director enforces confidentiality rules and ensures compliance with all applicable HIPPA and CFR42, mandated reporter, CVTC policies and procedures, and other regulations.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.

Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and leadership skills; including the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, and multi-level of external contacts.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.

Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Superb time management skills to ensure scheduled activities are followed.

Proficient with Microsoft 365 Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams), database software, and general office equipment with the willingness to learn new systems.

Certificates and Licenses Required: A valid Alaska Driver’s license is required for this position and the ability to be insured on CVTC’s vehicle insurance policy. Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.

Drug Testing and Background Check: This position is subject to pre-hire and random drug testing. This position requires you to complete and pass a pre-employment state and federal background check as a condition of employment.

AN/AI Preference: As allowed in P.L. 93-638, preference for employment will be given to Alaska Native and American Indian peoples.
