Maintenance Technician

A 50 room franchised hotel in Point Loma has an immediate opening for maintenance person. Job will oversee property maintenance of grounds, building facilities and guest rooms. Responsible for daily cleaning and upkeep, preventive maintenance, small repair and tasks, special projects, and communicating larger maintenance needs to the General Manager.

General Duties include:

Ensure the best possible lodging experience for each guest.

Follow grooming and appearance guidelines.

Wear a provided maintenance uniform and nametag at all times on property.

Order and install small maintenance items as needed for repair.

Complete tasks and assignments on the daily Maintenance Checklist.

Complete Maintenance Request Forms within 24 hours.

Complete Preventive Maintenance program on a timely basis.

Respond to maintenance emergencies timely, on a 24 hour call basis.

Practice safe working conditions.

Practice safe chemical handling.

Perform other such duties assigned by Management.

Exterior of Building Duties:

Clear trash and empty property trash containers daily.

Sweep and clean sidewalks and stairs as needed.

Clear debris from parking lot, landscaping, and dumpster area daily.

Ensure exterior building and grounds are clean by use of a pressure washer and blower.

Guest Rooms and Common Areas:

Paint walls, ceilings, doors and window trim as needed.

Provide Preventive Maintenance to 2 rooms each day.

Ensure Preventive Maintenance repairs in the following areas:

Lighting; Electrical circuits and wiring; Plumbing; HVAC; Guest room walls; Appliances; Doors and locks; Furniture; Floor coverings.

Ensure Guest Laundry washers, dryers, vending machines and common areas are cleaned daily. Maintain clean, organized maintenance workshop. Also, occasionally maintain two residential houses

Skills needed:

General knowledge of heating, air conditioning, electric, plumbing and carpentry skills.

Knowledge of pool maintenance

Knowledge and ability to use basic work tools and equipment.

Ability to patch holes, paint walls and stain/maintain furniture.

Ability to work well under limited supervision.

Ability to work well with others.

Strong work ethic.

Prior experience in electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, etc. Must have own tools. F/T, competitive wages. Though limited, will be on call 24 hours/day.
