Summary This vacancy is for MAIL CLERK position in, TRANSPORT & BLDG. SERVICES, located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station. This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other MAIL CLERK, 0305, 5, FPL GS-5 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience. Responsibilities Receives, processes, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail. Routes and delivers mail for all carriers to include Federal Express, United Parcel Services (UPS) and the United States Postal Service (USPS). Processes incoming and outgoing mail accordance with agency and Postal Service requirements; establishes new distribution patterns and codes, or updates old patterns and codes. Processes internal mail and documents for mass mail outs. Works with corresponding division/offices to ensure appropriate method of mailings. Specialized Experience: For the GS-5, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-4 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: receiving, and distributing mail, processing outgoing mail; and establishing distribution patterns and codes. OR Education: 4 years above high school. (Please provide Transcripts) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
