Seeking Thursday Evening Yoga Instructor

Long-established yoga studio seeking instructor for an ongoing Thursday evening yoga class.

The Thursday evening class has been a "slow flow" practice, conducted at a moderate pace with ample time for relaxation at the end of the class. All classes at SFY are "mixed-level" and the ability to accomodate a range of ages and abilities is needed. The ideal candidate would have some teaching experience, and an awareness of trauma-informed practices and evolving perspectives on yoga and injury is preferred. There will be additional opportunites to sub. for other classes if desired.

Our large studio contains several air purifiers, and we continue to practice care in regards to contagious illness. Students and teachers are asked to stay home when ill, and we currently have a 16-18 person maximum for in-person classes.

At Shelburne Falls Yoga, we actively foster an environment in which the students' goals, needs, and intuitive wisdom take precedence over external performance or conforming to outside instruction. We value the process of inquiry and honor the multi-faceted, ancient, and evolving tradition of yoga. Compassionate self-observation is at the core of our offerings, and we engage in an ongoing exploration of how this core can be extended outward in acknowledgement of the collective needs of our shared world.
