Description Challenge your problem-solving and communication skills with this PC Technician role from Robert Half. Part of the IT Software industry, the PC Technician will communicate with technical and non-technical users to fix complex issues. This role may be for you if you are a self-starter and a problem solver who enjoys working in a positive, dynamic environment. The PC Technician Role is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity and will be located in the Westwood, Massachusetts region.What you get to do every single day

Record daily data communication transactions, issues and remedial actions or installation activities

Collaborate to test functionality and provide end user support

Install printers, troubleshoot problems and make repairs

Ensure sound electronic data records by adhering to company quality standards

Handle take down, packaging, transportation and setup/installation on site

Manage and carry out a variety of technology implementation projects

Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and refurbish a variety of computer hardware, including PCs, laptops, monitors, servers and other IT equipment

Image and prepare new computers

Oversee data transfers from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware and break/fix

Coordinate repairs with the appropriate vendors

Dismantle, box and ship outdated equipment

Keep track of equipment and collaborate on possible purchases

Communicate regularly and effectively with ticket submitters Requirements - Solid understanding of Desktop Hardware

Command of Setups

Foundational knowledge in Network Cabling

Cabling experience

A certification in CompTIA A+ is mandatory

Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical

Eager problem-solver who listens for customer cues and actively resolves problems with grace and integrity

Great attention to detail

1+ years of experience with PC and Mac hardware and software, and an understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN

Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
