Lawyer needed for Job Misrepresentation & Retaliation case
California, Los angeles , 90001 Los angeles USA

Greetings,

I am looking for an employment lawyer (or similar specialty) to take my case that involves misrepresentation and/or retaliation. Here are the facts:

I was hired by Affiliated Pathologists Medical Group (APMG, about 100 employees) as a "grossing technician" on Oct. 9, 2023. They are contracted with Southern California Hospital at Culver City, which is where I worked. This hospital is owned by Prospect Medical Holdings Inc. (about 20,000 employees).

ISSUE:

APMG hired me for a job that requires a specific certification that I do not possess. I was told in the interview that I did not need any certification, and I ended up performing all job duties and tasks of this certified position. I was even being called, and was documented as being, a pathologists' assistant (a title that the company says needs certification). Meanwhile, the job description listed me as a grossing technician. So I was being led to believe that I was a P.A., and this was intentionally done because the doctor needed somebody to start working ASAP in order to relieve her of a ton of work. They lowered the standards and qualifications for this reason, and it was tough for them to find certified P.A.'s.

When I found out on February 20 that the company had a different salary range for a pathologists' assistant (which is the work I was doing), I complained to HR about it and they downgraded my job title and duties to the point where I became useless. I ultimately got fired only 6 days later. Retaliatory events transpired between Feb 20 and 26, and they fired me for a completely false reason ("violation of hospital policy").

Please let me know if you can take up this case. Thank you.
