In this role as Pharmacist, you will be responsible to prepare and distribute pharmaceuticals according to professional standards and practices. You will have an exciting opportunity to provide information and services for safe and appropriate use of drugs to patients.

Job Responsibility

· Process physician orders to provide pharmaceutical care services by screening orders when entering the computer profile and reviewing for appropriate therapy - e.g., incompatibilities, interactions, dosing, non-formulary agents.

· Advise physicians and health practitioners on the interactions and side effects of medications.

· Dispenses controlled drugs following state and federal regulations and hospital policy including proper documentation and maintenance of inventory levels as well as the dispensing unit for controlled substance.

· Accurately measuring, preparing, and distributing proper medications to the patients that need them.

· Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.

· Provide patients with pertinent drug information.

· Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding medication.

· Provide assistance for medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.

· Maintain proper inventory control by monitoring stock levels to ensure adequate drug supplies to maintain pharmaceutical services and expiration dates to ensure quality control.

· Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.

· Keep abreast of advancements in medicine and collaborating with other healthcare professionals.

Experience/Education: Required Licensure/Certification: Applicant must hold a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent advanced degree and be a licensed Pharmacist through the state of NY.

Years of Experience: Preferred 1+ years' experience interacting with patients

Skills: Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemical compounds, medical brands etc; Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and pharmacy information systems (eg. Micro-merchant PrimeRX, etc.); Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; Ability to work with others; Highly motivated and compassionate
