Inventory Clerk in Capital Assets ManagementLocation: Texas Medical Center-Houston, TexasCategory: Professional/ManagerialUTHealth Houston General AdministrationRequisition #: 240000TPUTHealth Houston is looking for an inventory clerk who will work with our Capital Assets team. You will be charged with looking at items that need to be cataloged, such as cameras, televisions, or any equipment that we track for use by departments. In particular we are looking for large ticket items that may be worth in excess of $5,000. You will monitor purchases and then go to the specific departments to tag that asset and record the serial number. You will then be responsible for putting the data into our system and running annual audits to make sure we are on track with our inventory and where equipment is located.This is a full-time position that will be eligible for all UTHealth Houston benefits. Your home office will be in our Operations Center Building, which is south of Reliant Stadium and the 610 Loop. You may, at times, be required to drive a UTHealth Houston vehicle to get to different facilities.What we do here changes the world. Position Summary:Maintains a complex inventory system at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).Position Key Accountabilities:

Coordinates and participates in the annual physical inventory.

Manages surplus and storage areas of the inventory section.

Affixes inventory tags to new equipment and “sensitive items.”

Prepares inventory data for entry into the computer.

Reviews and date-stamps purchase orders.

Receives and issues property items.

Assigns property numbers to the equipment.

Disposes of obsolete items.

Solves routine problems concerning the location of property in storage and inventory discrepancies.

May perform other duties as assigned.
