MSD supplies innovative solutions for microscopy and microanalysis. Using scanning and transmission electron microscopes and DualBeam™ FIB-SEMs, combined with advanced software suites, our customers can combine high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical, and electrical analysis to go from questions to usable data. Our solutions enable customers to push the boundaries of productivity and innovation.​Materials and Structural Analysis impacts everyday life ​medicines and vaccines, transportation, clean energy, devices, food, bridges, technology, and more.Work Location: Hillsboro, Oregon (on-site) and up to 25% international and domestic travel.How will you make an impact?You will collaborate with customer and R&D teams to integrate products into customer's factory automation landscape. Enable Lab Automation business success by focusing on driving scalable factory automation solutions.What will you do?You will be part of the Semiconductor Business unit within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Materials and Structural Analysis organization, committed to bringing groundbreaking automation solutions to our customers to help them achieve success. The applications being developed focus on using advanced approaches, including support for Smart Factory and Artificial Intelligence to enable the autonomous operation of our next-generation Electron Microscope product lines that are key to helping our semiconductor customers solve their most meaningful problems more effectively.You will play a crucial role in the development of Industrial Automation solutions for our capital equipment. The fundamental responsibility of this role is to ensure a clear and comprehensive understanding of the customer requirements during the initial stages, leading to a well-defined project scope following the conceptual design and architecture, while providing vital support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle through effective collaboration with the Project Managers, and Functional Leads. Further, there is an expectation to establish and maintain a compelling product vision spawning across our product portfolio. You will be responsible for creating factory automation packages to drive revenue.How will you get here?Minimum Education Requirement:

Master’s degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

Minimum Experience Requirement :

10+ years of experienced in solution design, vendor management, and enterprise application support, in addition to strong business understanding and product management.

10+ years of experience with customer requirements analysis and a very good understanding of software and system architectures leading product development from concept to implementation.

Domain expertise in SEMI GEM300 standards and experience in integrating OEM equipment with Manufacturing Execution Systems [ MES ], Fault Detection and Classification [ FDC ], and/or Yield Management Systems [ YMS ].

Experienced in integrating industrial robotic systems including Equipment Front End Module [ EFEM ] to support automated material management and sample tracking.

Ability to mentor and lead engineering teams to develop customer-facing solutions.

Extensive experience in interacting with customers to collect requirements and VOCs, drive integration strategies, and Fab assessments.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

In-depth knowledge of front-end development is desirable. Several years of experience in the area of machine communication, e.g. through SECS/GEM , EDA, and/or OPC-UA

Knowledge of Industry 4.0 in semiconductor industries and familiarity with specific industry challenges and standard processes involved in MES, LIMS, and/or SCADA implementations

Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, is comfortable working as part of a large multi-functional, geographically distributed team, and is prepared to work to aggressive timelines along iterative product development schedules

Able to understand, eloquent, and challenge the requirements, perform solution analysis

Ability to estimate level of effort of the solution and develop commercial offering package

Eagerness to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies to continually offer innovative solutions to clients

Keen attention to detail with a focus on delivering fully functional and high-quality solutions

A strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and accountability

Flexibility to adapt to evolving project requirements and customer needs

Preferred Experience:

Experience with cloud computing solutions, IoT integration, and modern software development methodologies.

Experience in Data Analytics and architecture leading data strategy for enterprise applications.

Certifications in Systems/Software architecture and product management.
