Construction Laborer

Janke General Contractors performs constructions projects throughout the State of Wisconsin. The majority of the work is provided for Cities, Counties, the State and other municipalities. Our typical projects include dams, trails, parks, boardwalks, bridges, boat launches and similar types of civil projects. Our projects typical last between a few weeks and a few months.

The position:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Construction Laborer to join our team. As a Construction Laborer, you will assist with various tasks on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently and to high standards. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with the setup and cleanup of construction sites

- Load and unload materials and equipment

- Operate hand and power tools under supervision

- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact soil

- Assist with the installation of construction materials, such as pipes, concrete, and steel

- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred but not required. We have an apprenticeship program where you'll be paid to attend classes to improve your skills.

- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions

- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools

- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

- Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment

- Valid driver's license is a plus
