Description Job Overview:Our client seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AP Accountant to join their finance team in the manufacturing industry. The AP Accountant will be primarily responsible for managing accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures. Experience with JD Edwards software is preferred.Key Responsibilities:Accounts Payable Processing:

Receive and review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization.

Code and enter invoices into the accounting system (preferably JD Edwards).

Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors, including verifying appropriate approvals.

Process employee expense reports and reimbursements efficiently.

Vendor Management:

Maintain vendor records, including accurate contact information, payment terms, and tax documentation.

Communicate effectively with vendors regarding payment inquiries, discrepancies, and issue resolution.

Coordinate with procurement and other departments to resolve purchase order, invoice, and payment discrepancies.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant accounting standards.

Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all accounts payable transactions.

Assist in internal and external audits related to accounts payable.

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounts payable function.

Participate in projects to streamline processes, enhance controls, and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Proven experience as an AP Accountant or similar role in the manufacturing industry.

Familiarity with JD Edwards software is preferred.

Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, practices, and procedures.
