Description Senior Software Developer - Fixed Income Clearance & SettlementThe OpportunityWe are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Developer to join our growing team. You will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining mission-critical software applications that support Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) clearance and settlement for the fixed income investment community. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the automation of core business functions within the capital markets.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and implement highly scalable and secure software solutions to automate MBS clearance and settlement processes.Possess a deep understanding of MBS products, including aged trades, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.Utilize your experience with SQL to manage and query financial data related to MBS transactions.Develop and maintain C# front-end applications for user interaction with clearance and settlement functionalities.Integrate with external systems using APIs, file-based transfers, FIX engines, and Swift messaging protocols.Establish and maintain real-time connections to the DTCC and other industry-standard platforms (e.g., IBM MQ) for efficient data exchange.Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure successful project deliverables.Lead and mentor junior developers, fostering a strong and collaborative development team.Participate in ISO 27001 audits and ensure adherence to information security best practices.Assist in planning future development initiatives and contribute to the hiring process for team expansion.Requirements QualificationsMinimum 10+ years of experience in software development with a focus on the capital markets or financial services industry.Proven experience with MBS clearance and settlement processing workflows.In-depth knowledge of fixed income products, particularly aged MBS trades.Strong understanding of SQL database management and querying.Expertise in C# front-end development and building user interfaces.Experience integrating with external systems using APIs, file transfers, FIX, Swift, and real-time messaging protocols.Familiarity with DTCC connectivity protocols and industry standards (e.g., IBM MQ).Management experience, including leading and mentoring junior developers.A commitment to writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Must possess a valid MBS Clearance and Settlement processing license.Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
