Job Summary:

The position in the Weight Loss Clinic is responsible for assisting healthcare providers, ensuring the smooth flow of clinic operations, and providing exceptional care and support to patients seeking weight management services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Clinical Support:

Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, including taking vital signs, recording patient histories, and preparing patients for consultations.

Perform basic medical procedures such as body composition measurements.

Administer injections or medications as directed by healthcare providers.

Patient Interaction:

Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.

Review patient medical histories and update electronic health records accurately.

Provide information about weight loss programs, treatment options, and answer general patient inquiries.

Appointment Scheduling:

Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits.

Communicate appointment details and reminders to patients via phone, email, or in person.

Coordinate scheduling changes or cancellations as needed.

Administrative Duties:

Manage patient paperwork, including consent forms, and billing-related documents.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, equipment, and supplies.

Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and tracking clinic expenses.

Education and Support:

Provide patients with educational materials on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle modifications.

Offer emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their weight loss journey.

Assist in facilitating group sessions or workshops, as needed.

Compliance and Documentation:

Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.

Accurately document patient information, treatment details, and medication administration in electronic health records (EHR).

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, dietitians, and counselors, to ensure coordinated patient care.

Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the improvement of clinic processes and patient care strategies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program is preferred.

Medical Assistant certification or registration in the state.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.

Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.

Ability to multitask, work efficiently, and adapt to a fast-paced clinic environment.
