Sr Credit Officer - CommercialThe Sr Credit Officer – Commercial executes consistent, well documented, prudent lending decisions, and accurately closes and manages the resulting credit exposure, all in accordance with the policies and practices of the Bank. This position will be the primary Credit Officer for the Bank's Commercial Lending, Municipal Lending, and Small Business Administration (SBA) divisions.Key Responsibilities and Duties

Direct responsibility for managing a team of underwriters tasked with underwriting and closing a significant volume of new commercial loans per year.

Direct responsibilities may also include managing a team of portfolio managers tasked with servicing certain commercial portfolios.

Provides guidance and direction to the underwriters, portfolio managers, analysts, and loan closing personnel.

Ensures policy and guideline exceptions associated with new loan decisions are appropriately noted and mitigated.

Ensures loan performance, including any covenants are monitored in a timely manner, and appropriately reflected in the loan servicing documentation and loan risk rating.

Provides input on new credit products and author associated policies and procedures to support these new products.

Periodically reviews all policies, procedures, and guidelines applicable to the Commercial Banking division, and refines as needed.

Maintains strong awareness of industry issues, technology applications, regulatory expectations, secondary market practices, and legal developments that impact commercial lending institutions.

Maintains strong working relationships with key executives including commercial operations unit heads and sales managers.

20+ years of banking experience with 10+ years specifically in commercial credit.

5+ years of SBA Lending and/or Public Finance

Direct experience building a commercial credit team from the ground up.
