Automotive Service Advisor

We are seeking a qualified Service Advisor to our team. Our Service Advisors must be customer service oriented and have a passion to please Building relationships with our customers, old and new, is a vital part of the success of our company; being able to listen and understand the customer's concerns and effectively set and manage the customer's expectations is key. Our Service Advisors answer phone calls, greets customers, ascertain car problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms and clarifying description of problems, develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; and writes-up repair orders.

A qualified candidate should have strong automotive repair knowledge as well as exceptional communication skills to work with technicians, management and other staff to meet and exceed customer expectations as a team. Other qualifications for the position include a strong mechanical aptitude, auto parts knowledge, problem solving skills, flexibility and a willingness to learn. Candidate must also be able to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Write up customer's vehicle problems accurately and clearly and verify customer information.

- Create repair order in the shop management system.

- Notify Service Manager of incoming work, repair order status.

- Ensure that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Make sure they are locked and all keys are marked and put away correctly.

- Communicate updates from customer to Service Manager.

- Check on progress of repair throughout the day. Contact customers regarding any changes in the estimate or promised time, explains cost and time requirements in detail, and gets proper authorization before any additional repairs are performed.

- Handle telephone inquiries regarding inbound work and work in process.

- Review repair orders to ensure that work is completed and additional work and authorization is noted.

- Close repair orders.

Background Knowledge & Competencies:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

- 2 years of Automotive Service Advisor experience

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel)

- Experience with Mitchell 1 Manager SE and ProDemand

- Heavy duty truck knowledge is a plus
