Description Robert Half is currently working with a dynamic client seeking a Purchasing Assistant. As the Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the purchasing department. Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills are required for this Purchasing Assistant position. The Purchasing Assistant will ideally have previous purchasing or procurement experience and a desire to advance their career. Are you looking to start your career in procurement? Document records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
Prepare and process purchase orders
Track levels of inventory and own purchasing needs
Research suppliers, goods, and services, and compare options
Inquire about cost proposals and negotiate prices and contracts
Complete detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
Look into supplier profiles and examine offers Requirements - Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position
Strong research and analytical skills
Strong organization and documentation skills
Quality negotiation and communication skills
High school diploma or GED required
Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred
Proficiency in inventory management software programs, CRM, and ERP
