A Snapshot of Your DayThis role is for experienced Electrical Design Team Lead, responsible for managing an Electrical design team of Power transformers designers. Candidate must have a deep understanding and experience of transformer design, production, and quality control processes, coupled with outstanding leadership skills to lead a team. In this role you will be accountable for delivering the ED documents, design innovations and the optimization of the end products in compliance with Siemens Energy design rules, quality standards, cost position and time schedule. Candidate will be located at Siemens Energy Transformers Factory at Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.How You’ll Make an ImpactLead, mentor, and guide a team of engineers involved in electrical design and development of power transformers. Orchestrate the application of core technologies in electrical design of transformers, ensuring innovation, on-time delivery and optimization.The ED team will understand customer specifications, project requirements, guaranteed technical particulars, prepare design review documents, technical reports, and justifications for the customers.Perform Electrical Calculations for Power transformers and prepare detailed Electrical design documents.Estimate quantities for offers/tenders, prepare technical documentation for offers & have technical discussions with customers at offer and order execution stages.Manager will ensure and develop ED processes & tools for planning, task scheduling, interface management, resource allocation, design information release, organizational change, design checking, implementation of checklists, quality gates and ensuring high level of productivity and on-time delivery.Also, support problem/failure analysis. resolution and lessons learnt.Develop knowledge of ED team on transformer design rules, use of design calculation tools and simulation tools.Promote collaboration of ED team with other departments like sales, mechanical design, purchase, manufacturing, quality, global design rules and R&D efforts etc.Support implementation of the concept of resource sharing with cost-effective countries to optimize engineering labor hours costs without compromising quality.Implement ED team ramp-up plans, training programs for new technologies, ensuring teams are well-equipped and skilled for implementation.What You Bring

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering. MBA is an added advantage.

Demonstrated experience (10+ years) in a managerial role in the power transformer electrical design dept.

Experience in performing Offer and order electrical design of transformers for at least 5 years

Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of effectively leading ED teams.

Deep Knowledge about transformer losses, impedances, noise levels, Short Circuit forces, temperature limits, loading capabilities and components like winding, winding assembly, tap changer, bushings etc.

Familiar with the American & international standards (eg. IEEE, ANSI, IEC) related to transformers, transformer components, and materials.

Experience in 2D/3D Electro-magnetic simulation and 2D/3D Electrostatic analysis is an added advantage.

Excellent written and verbal communication in English with the ability to collaborate closely with multi-functional teams, partners, and customers.

Self-motivated to produce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision.

Good experience of working with Global Engineering teams in project execution

Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, implement process improvements, and co-ordination with manufacturing, suppliers, and customer.
