Provide Direct Patient Services

Assist Health Center Physicians

Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Greet patients at the front desk and verifying demographic and insurance information.

Review quality assurance reports

Serve and protect the practice by adhering to professional standard, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Enhance practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Perform other duties as assigned, including helping or substituting for the front desk secretary as needed

Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.

Perform job responsibilities as part of the team; interact well with other members of the team.

Participate in team and staff meetings as requested.

Participate in staff development programs and promote team cohesiveness.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of common office procedures.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Ability to learn a state of the art electronic medical records program.

Ability to interview patients and to obtain necessary medical information.

Ability to work efficiently.

Analytical and problem solving skills

Attention to details and high level of accuracy

Ability to work with confidential medical records and maintain HIPAA policy and procedure.

Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.

Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Willingness and ability to learn new skills as needed in the medical office environment.

Ability to collaborate with other multi-disciplinary team members.

Proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma

Diploma for completion of a medical assistant school or equivalent education

One (1) year plus previous medical assistant experience (not to include externship)

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year plus previous medical assistant experience (not to include externship)

One (1) year plus experience in a primary care or internal medicine office

One (1) year plus experience with electronic medical records.

Medical assistant state certification
