Construction Project Coordinator

We are a busy Construction company looking for a dedicated and experienced Construction Project Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist project managers with all aspects of running a successful project. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels of the organization. All Applicants must currently live on the Big Island.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with management on project planning and execution from beginning to end.

Maintain company databases for tools, material inventory, contacts, etc.

Maintain a filing system (digital and paper) for all contracts, records, and other documentation for easy access by management.

Assist managers with project scheduling, RFI’s, change orders, subcontracts, lien waivers, ordering, drawings, and budgets.

Assist managers on procurement for the projects.

Coordinate and submit hours for billing for the projects.

Perform project closing activities as needed.

Coordinate and work with management on delivery scheduling.

Assisted with filing for permits, scheduling inspections, etc.

Be willing to pitch in with what is needed and be comfortable asking questions.

Requirements and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred but not required.

2+ years of experience in construction administration or a similar role in another trade.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.

Knowledge of Microsoft Project is preferred but optional.

Knowledge of county permitting and inspection process, including the use of the EPIC county website, is a plus

Familiarity with office equipment, copy machines, and phone systems.

Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts is preferred but not required.

High attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Highly organized and able to create an organized and easy-to-follow system for others with strong analytical skills.

Independently motivated, able to take on tasks and duties without immediate direction.

Ability to keep a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
