Our work depends onApplication Systems Administrator joining our team to help support our DISA client in the Pentagon. The Application Systems Administrator will be part of a team providing IT services to monitor, operate, and maintain the Enterprise Management System (EMS) monitoring solution. Our team provides continuous observation and management of the organization’s network infrastructure, duties include tracking/analyzing network traffic to ensure network peak efficiency, monitoring the health and status of all physical devices within the network, and scrutinizing network traffic to identify application performance issues and potential bottlenecks related to user experience on the network. By deploying a comprehensive network monitoring solution, our team ensures the Pentagon and National Capital Region (NCR) networks are resilient, efficient, and aligned with operational needs.How an Application Systems Administrator will make an impact:

Provide routine technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures

Troubleshoots system hardware and software issues

Performs basic software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages

Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels

Develop and execute test plans to check the technical performance of infrastructure and systems. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and monitoring software

Configure the monitoring system to test the availability of infrastructure and services to measure user experience, and tailor it to meet the needs of the customer.

Define system components, ensure scalability, and guide the overall technical direction of the project, to ensure the customer receives the best possible service and their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

What you'll need to succeed:

CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain an active Top-Secret Clearance

CERTIFICATION: Active Security+ CE Certification (or higher) at time of hire. One or more technical (server, network, etc.) certifications to satisfy DOD 8570.

EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience

EXPERIENCE : 5+ years of hands-on experience conducting root cause analyses and implementing recommended solutions to troubleshoot or remediate issues.

Work on a cross-functional team across a broad range of technologies, to ensure infrastructure components are properly maintained and supported.

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

Strong background and familiarity with Linux and Windows environment best practices

Proficient in the installation, modification, and maintenance of local area networks (LANs)

Support the design, development, installation, testing, debugging, and maintenance of network operating systems, software, and hardware.

Responsible for configuration and management of UNIX and Windows operating systems to install/load operating system software and provide configuration to components that ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems.

Knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and work in an Agile framework

Knowledge and experience with the application, configuration, and administration of patches and remediations that are per customer specifications/requirements.
