About the Role:

As our Beer Buyer, you’ll play a key role in creating a dynamic & exciting selection of craft beers & ciders and hard kombuchas & seltzers for our customers. You’ll be responsible for:

· Sourcing and selecting a diverse range of craft beers: Partner with local & regional craft breweries to discover exciting new brews, while maintaining a stock of customer favorites.

· Staying on top of craft beer trends: Research new releases and stay informed about the latest trends and customer preferences in the craft beer market

· Creating a balanced and appealing beer selection: Consider factors like taste profiles, styles, seasonality, and local favorites to curate a selection that caters to a variety of preferences while aligning with New Moon’s values.

· Building relationships with distributors and brewers: Negotiate pricing, manage inventory, and cultivate strong relationships with our vendors.

· Promoting craft beer sales: Create engaging displays, participate in tastings, and generate excitement for the beer department through social media and in-store promotions.

· Managing inventory: Ensure a well-stocked and diverse beer selection, maintain organized backstock and customer facing areas, and coordinate digital inventory in collaboration with our Truckee Beer Buyer, Kevin Kremler.

· Collaborating for store success: Be a part of the Tahoe City team and pitch in to help when & where needed to keep the store running smoothly. May include stocking, receiving, running the register, and helping customers.

Qualifications:

· Extensive knowledge of craft beer styles, breweries, and current trends.

· Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· A keen sense of taste and a passion for craft beer!

· Ability to work independently and a part of a team.

· Excellent customer service orientation.

· Ability to lift upwards of 50lbs throughout the shift.
