Assistant Winemaker

Carr Winery is an ultra-premium small production winery that is seeking a motivated, hard working, positive, detail oriented multi-tasker to add to our winemaking team. This is a hands on position and will include performing all cellar operations, under the direction of the Winemaker. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast paced and changing work environment. Ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1+ years of experience in wine production. Reliable transportation is a must.

Essential Functions:

Standard cellar work

Racking, filtering, making additions, barrel work, topping, pulling samples, cleaning, etc.

Harvest related responsibilities include

Harvest prep and planning, cap management and fermentation, press operation, fruit receiving and processing

Forklift operation

Sanitize and maintain all cellar equipment

Ability to work flexible and extended hours when necessary

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to contribute to a positive work environment and communicate professionally with co-workers, management, and clients

Requirements:

1+ years cellar experience

Possess a positive attitude and a sense of humor

Strong leadership capabilities

Committed to continual learning

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Able to accurately complete work instructions, and to work both individually and in a team

Flexible and willing to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends and to assist with various consumer events

Able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Able to lift 50 pounds
