Accounting Specialist

Description Are you an Accounting Specialist looking to join a well-respected organization? Robert Half is looking for a candidate to support a department as an Accounting Specialist. The Accounting Specialist will match invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assist with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary employment based in the Santa Barbara, California area.What you get to do every single day

Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

Work with Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

Arrange documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of expenditure codes and accounting codes

Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers

Requirements - General ledger experience

Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

Solid understanding of bank reconciliations

AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

Spreadsheet and ERP system experience suggested

Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment

Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
