Assembly/Packer/Cable Crimping - entry level

Signal Hill manufacturer seeks a full-time assembly/packer/cable crimper to join our dynamic and expanding Warehouse Assembly team. Our assemblers perform routine assembly and packaging procedures, as well as some secondary operations. Basic math, measuring skills, hardware knowledge (metric/standard) and attention to details are all qualities we seek; along with the ability to work well with others and carry on a positive rapport.

The successful candidate also comes with a proven attendance record, has reliable transportation, and does not mind minimal to moderate physical labor in a production style setting.

This position reports to our Signal Hill production facility. We offer a team-effort, family style work environment, on the job training, competitive compensation and benefits with room for growth.

Assembly/Packer Duties and Responsibilities

Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.

Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.

Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.

Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintains inventory of packaging supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Able to lift 30-50 lbs.

Able to accurately measure length, width, depth using a tape measure.

Use and maintenance of hand tools, pneumatic tools and cutting tools.

Use of basic math skills.

Basic knowledge on aircraft cable rigs and crimping on 3/32" 1/8" and 3/16" swage and thimble is a major plus.
