The Blue Duck Hiring Line Cooks
The Blue Duck is a small, family owned and operated restaurant in Saint Louis, MO. We are a casual, casual dining restaurant with a focus on fresh ingredients and seasonal dishes. We are looking for a line cook to assist in preparing food to the chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Requirements:
Must be able to work 5+ shifts; must be able to work weekends
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and at least one member of the team must be able to do so with the use of hands
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must have knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and sanitation
Must have an aptitude for learning new techniques and tools
Must have excellent time management skills
Must be able to work cooperatively as a team member
Must have reliable transportation
Duties:
Prepare food according to the prep list provided by the Executive Chef & Sous Chef during shift preparation.
Follow recipes and food safety guidelines.
Properly label and store all ingredients and equipment.
Ensure that food items are prepared properly according to the order in which they are ordered from the menu.
Follow proper food safety practices including proper handling, storage and sanitation methods.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
