About the Position

We offer an opportunity for a dedicated and highly experienced individual to join our team as a Woodshop Lead Fabricator/Production Supervisor.

Our company operates on a 4-day workweek, from Monday to Thursday, with working hours set from 8 am to 6 pm.

However, the hours for this specific position are from 8 am to 1 pm, Monday to Thursday, for a total of 20 hours/week. You will be job-sharing this role with one of our company co-founders, who also serves as the Lead Fabricator/Foreman, working from 1 pm to 6 pm.

Our current Lead Fabricator/Production Supervisor has a very broad range of experience in all facets of custom woodworking including a thorough knowledge and experience of joinery, all woodworking machinery and hand tools, sanding, finishing, door installation, overseeing production.

We’re seeking an individual with a similar skill set to fill this position.

70% of the role involves hands-on fabrication work and some site/installation work, while the remaining 30% encompasses assigning and supervising tasks, ensuring completion of assigned work, and maintaining safety and quality standards for junior fabricators.

Required Technical Skills:

- Thorough knowledge and proven experience with joinery, woodworking machinery, hand tools, sanding, finishing, and door installation.

- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings with precision and accuracy.

- Candidate must be able to manage staff, maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop, plan projects, allocate work schedule, and prioritize workflow.

- Ability to take project details from drawings through completion, finishing, and installation.

- Understand curved work thoroughly, including proper joinery.

- Have a complete and thorough understanding of shaper set-up and running straight and radius items.

Role Responsibilities:

- Take charge of the production in the morning, arriving punctually by 8:00 AM.

- Assign work to Jr. Fabricators and ensure adherence to company production and work standards is maintained.

- Manage the quality outputs of Jr. Fabricators, offering feedback where required and continually encouraging improvements.

- This position requires that you serve as a fabricator and work with the team. You must be able to manage your time and production targets.

- Demonstrate assertiveness and confidence in questioning the quality of work when necessary, striving for excellence in every aspect of our operations.

- Maintain documentation of performed work, processes, and procedures, ensuring consistency in our operations.

- Foster a culture of order, organization, and cleanliness within the shop environment.

- Effectively communicate with co-founders, junior fabricators, and other team members to convey instructions, provide feedback, and address concerns or issues.

- Capture and retain information effectively, documenting processes and procedures as needed to enhance efficiency and knowledge sharing within the team.

- Communicate daily with the owner and make sure that tasks are handed off clearly and efficiently to the Afternoon Lead Fabricator/Production Supervisor.

- Assist with developing new and improved SOPs in all general areas

- Lead by example with discipline and work ethic.

What we Offer:

Pay rate: $40/hr
