Lead Cook - Line Cook

Highly experienced management and owner team is searching for a cook to lead the kitchen team for a new Gastropub in Waldwick, NJ. The team behind two successful and popular local restaurants just opened their third concept; a gastropub. Featuring elevated bar menu, a curated beer selection and craft cocktails, the restaurant is set to open in February.

The menu will be helmed by an executive chef with international acclaim and experience, who will be candidate's direct supervisor. We are looking for someone to join our team to oversee the day to day operations of the back of house functions. The right candidate is a team player who can see the vision of the team to fruition. Attention to detail and a good attitude is a must.

Prior to hire, we will require candidates to cook with our chef at our flagship restaurant.

Some of the duties include:

- Prepare and cook meals according to the menu and dietary guidelines provided.

- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner.

- Assist with menu planning and recipe development.

- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.

- Maintain inventory of food supplies and equipment, and order as needed.

- Follow all food handling and safety regulations.

- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment.

Experience required:

- Previous experience working as a cook or in a similar role in the food industry.

- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods.

- Familiarity with menu planning and dietary guidelines.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
