Appointment Type Full Time Regular Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt General Function The Academic Advisor – Marketing, Recruitment and Retention Specialist – CNAS supports the faculty advisors, departments, and programs within the college; assists in the development of retention strategies for current students, visits with prospective students, meets with students interested in changing their majors to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ( STEM ) subjects, and serves as SOAR advisor for the college. In addition this position helps to achieve college enrollment and recruitment goals by establishing and maintaining effective communication with targeted high schools and community colleges and developing and implementing recruitment activities.Description of Primary Duties The Academic Advisor – Marketing, Recruitment and Retention Specialist – CNAS supports the faculty advisors, departments, and programs within the college. The Academic Advisor – Marketing, Recruitment and Retention Specialist – CNAS assists in the development of academic schedules, develops retention strategies for current students, visits with prospective students, meets with students interested in changing their majors to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ( STEM ) subjects, and serves as SOAR advisor for the college. The Academic Advisor – Marketing, Recruitment and Retention Specialist – CNAS helps to achieve college enrollment and recruitment goals by establishing and maintaining effective communication with targeted high schools and community colleges and developing and implementing recruitment activities.Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.Experience: At least one year of experience in working with the public is required. Experience in recruitment, marketing, public relations, and/or advisement at the university or college level is preferred.Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to work effectively with a diverse student population is required. Computer literacy is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required. Knowledge and expertise in the use of marketing communication tools, including digital marketing and social media or the desire to learn these skills is required.Other: Maintains Master Advisor status.
