Position Summary:

The Infusion Therapy Registered Nurse promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for ambulatory patients receiving intermittent infusion of fluids for hydration, medications such as antibiotics, rheumatoid arthritis medications, Chrons disease medications, ulcerative colitis medications, iron deficiency anemia medications, and autoimmune disorder medications.Essential Functions:Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychological support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Obtains access, draws labs, and maintains PICC and ports.

Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.Required Skills:

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 monthsRequired Licenses:

Current registered nurse licensure.Required Skills:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
