ESL Teacher Needed

ESL teacher needed to teach a variety of academic ESL classes including: grammar, writing, reading or speaking and listening for beginner to advanced students. Classes are Monday through Thursday from 9am to 1:35pm.

AEI is an intensive English and test preparation center. Our foundation program is an 8-week intensive English to prepare students for entry to U.S colleges and universities, as well as for personal and professional advancement. Teachers are expected to create syllabi to cover the set amount of material for a given session. They are also expected to create lesson plans, quizzes, finals, and grade reports. They also must maintain daily attendance and a teaching log.

ESL INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Instruct assigned ESL classes

- Prepare session plans, daily lesson plans, quizzes, test and finals for each course assigned.

- Maintain accurate, current and complete records in accordance with school policies and procedures including attendance, grading and teaching log.

- Assess and document student progress and provide grade reports.

- Attend meetings, professional development activities, curriculum planning and special events.

- Other duties as assigned by the Director

QUALIFICATIONS

- BA required. MA preferred in Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field

- Minimum of one year ESL teaching experience or other languages teaching experience

- Demonstrated ESL teaching ability

- TEFL/TESOL Certificate

- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work with adults from a variety of cultures in a variety of situations

Teachers need to send in their resume and a cover letter with copy of degrees. If selected, there will be an interview with the director and the teacher will be required to give a 20 minute demo lesson. Classes are in person.
