Trailer Mechanic
A Salson Logistics Class A Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered trucks and vehicles used in logistics operations. This role ensures that the fleet is in optimal operating condition and meets safety and regulatory standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to keep vehicles in good working condition.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
· Repair or replace faulty parts, such as alternators, starters, fuel injectors, belts, hoses, and exhaust systems.
· Conduct thorough inspections of trucks and vehicles to identify potential problems or safety concerns.
· Use diagnostic equipment, computerized systems, and technical manuals to analyze and rectify complex engine system malfunctions.
· Maintain accurate records of repair maintenance activities and parts inventory.
· Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when working with heavy equipment, tools, and hazardous materials.
· Collaborate with other mechanics and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs.
· Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and regulatory changes related to diesel engines and transportation.
· May provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced mechanics or apprentices.
