Program Attendant

Provide program support to Recreation Program as assigned and needed.

 Provides support with essential tasks to program activities.

 Makes phone calls to consumers, vendors and other persons when needed.

 When necessary, facilitate program activities as assigned by Coordinator.

 Uses appropriate safety precautions when transporting consumers in

wheelchairs, including transferring.

 Assist consumers with feeding needs and bathroom transfers.

 Assist consumers with boarding and exiting para-transit bus.

 Help to set up program area in the morning.

 Provides supervision of consumers during program as needed.

 Helps as needed to record all consumer attendance and activities

 Contributes to production of program newsletter as appropriate.

 Assists Coordinator in developing and conducting all program surveys.

 Handles all assigned tasks related to program supplies.

Qualifications of Social Recreation Program Attendant include:

 High School diploma or equivalent.

 Experience with assisting persons with disabilities.

 Physical ability to assist consumers’ personal care tasks: feeding, bathroom.

 Able to handle wide range of tasks.

 Highly motivated.

 Ability to follow directions.

 Ability to work independently

 Reliable and dependable during program hours.

 Positive attitude a must.

 Bilingual a plus.

This position is grant funded and continued employment is contingent upon continued funding.
