Accounting Assistant
Description Job Title: Temporary Accounting SpecialistDuration: 4-6 monthsThe role requires being onsite and does not offer remote work.Our client is seeking a Temporary Accounting Specialist focused on accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll for a 3-5 month project. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a fun team!Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable including verifying totals and coding as required.
Assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
Manage vendor relationships and build effective partnerships.
Reconcile monthly bank statements.
Process, record, and pay invoices, bills, and other transactions.
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues and expenses.
Take care of monthly closing activities.
Prepare financial reports as required.
Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting standards and financial policies.
Assist during audits by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, with hands-on experience in AP, AR and payroll.
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles.
Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in MS Excel.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Understanding of non-profit sector accounting is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Must be deadline-driven and able to manage time effectively.
