Description Robert Half is on the look-out for an organized individual with accounting chops to join a growing organization in the long-term contract / contract to hire role of Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company is offering an opportunity that is multi-faceted and challenging in nature. Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

Be a part of various department-wide initiatives Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Efficient in ERP systems

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

Excellent attention to detail

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

General ledger experience desired

Year-end Audits experience preferred

General ledger experience

Month end closings experience

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

Competent with spreadsheets and databases
