Employment Opportunity—Pump Installer

Job Description:

Pump Company, located in Central California is seeking a Pump Installer. This is a working position in an agricultural setting. Must have at minimum a Class C License. A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred. Experience in the installation of vertical line shaft turbine pumps, submersible pumps, and troubleshooting of pumps is required. Ideal candidates would also have experience in well development with diesel motors or well repair (swaging, jetting, airlifting), electrical panel installation and troubleshooting. Scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the outlined tasks below.

Candidates must be able to:

Fill Out Paper Work Neatly, Legibly, and Correctly;

Perform Installation of Vertical Line Shaft Turbine Pumps, Including Installation of Bowls and Adjustment of Lateral Play;

Demonstrate the Ability to Call Out Measurements for Top Tube, Shaft, Keyway, and Adjustment Nut for Electric Motors and Gearheads;

Perform Removal of Existing Vertical Line Shaft Turbine Pumps; Troubleshooting and Serviceability of Column, Tube and Shaft, Bearings, Discharge Base and Motor;

Perform Installation of Submersible Pumps, including Running Jacketed Electrical Wiring and Splicing of Wire to Pump End Motor, Installation of Well Seal, Installation of Electrical Control Box, and Connection of Various Pipe Fittings and/or Plumbing and Conduit;

Demonstrate Knowledge of Concrete Work for Slabs to Include Installation of Sounding Tubes, Squaring of Forms for Pad, Level pad and Understanding of Below and Above Grade Requirements, Pouring and Lite Finish Work of Concrete;

Perform Well Developments, Including Identifying Sounding Water Level for Static Level, Pumping Level, and Recovery Level at Different Timed Intervals; Placement of Bowls in Relation to Perforations and Expected GPM Production, Running of Motor, RPM’s, Surges, Durations of Time and Cleaning of Water;

Demonstrate Ability to do Basic Math to Determine GPM and Keep Neat Legible Records for Reporting;

Perform Panel Troubleshooting of Main Breaker / Fusible Disconnect, Time Delay, Starter, and Wire Connections; Ability to Read Voltage/Amp Use of Electric Motors; Ability to Troubleshoot Power Pole Fuses, Transformers (kva) and Meter Cans at Service Poles; Installation of Meter Cans, Service Poles, Pump Panels, Soft Starters, VFD’s, and Transformers;

Complete Other Pertinent Tasks, as Needed; Outside of Installing Pumps;

Be Versatile and Flexible;

Demonstrate the Ability to Maintain a Safe Work Environment, While Completing Work in a Timely & Efficient Manner.
