Front Office Medical Assistant
Front Office Duties (majority of work):
- send and start referrals, call offices for follow up and call patients to ensure labs are done, follow up is completed
- scan, fax and send and receive records
- assist with vaccine storage, receipt, managing vaccines (VFC and commercial)
- assist with scheduling and answering phones
Medical Assistant Duties (potential):
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Take patient medical history and vital signs
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records
- Assist with medical billing and coding
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems - Elation and Akamai
- Familiarity with medical billing and coding procedures
- Ability to work well in a team environment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
