Test Engineer

ResponsibilitiesLocation: Wichita, KS (Onsite) Relocation available to those who qualify Key Accountabilities:
Design, construct, fabricate, assemble, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems (primarily hydraulic, electrical and computer based equipment)
Perform a variety of tests utilizing electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and similar type systems and equipment
Support commissioning of new test equipment
Work with/from schematics, engineering drawings, written and/or verbal instructions
Operate related equipment
Analyze data to determine whether instrumentation is functioning correctly upon installation
Perform calibration and alignment checks, planning, modifications, and replacements as required
Work effectively and supportively in a team environment while being able to work independently with minimal oversight
Work with potentially hazardous equipment or on potentially hazardous test activities, following all safety equipment and processes mandated for those activities to complete them safely
Work directly with internal customers in a supportive and positive manner
Work a flexible schedule in dynamic and deadline driven environment
QualificationsRequirements:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited Engineering program is required
5+ years of related experience
Experience designing mechanical/electrical/hydraulic test systems
Experience assembling mechanical/electrical/hydraulic test systems
Experience working with mechanical/electrical/hydraulic test systems
Experience working with computer systems
Experience installing and working with instrumentation and test equipment
Ability to work from drawings and schematics
Ability to design and fabricate items required with minimal oversight
Experience working with various hand, power and machine shop tools
Ability to work a flexible work schedule
Preferred Skills:
9+ years of related experience
Experience in a production test, test lab and/or flight test environment
Programming and PLC experience
