Starting salary up to $63.02/hour ($131,530/year) and a competitive total compensation package!
Reporting to a Senior Construction Engineer, this position works on the most difficult and complex technical assignments and supervises two Engineering Technician IIIs and clerical staff. Other duties of the position include:
Overseeing all department construction projects, including contract management of construction and inspection contracts, supervision of in-house staff, and acting as a liaison with consultant inspection services
Preparing and reviewing all contract pay estimates
Enforcing provisions of the Public Contract Code and Caltrans specifications
Ensuring conformance with environmental regulations related to construction
Supervising the preparation of project plans, specifications, estimates, and environmental reviews
Liaising with various government and environmental agencies for project coordination and compliance
Work involves both office and field settings, including in various weather conditions, and requires flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work, as per project demands.
