GNC Engineer

Pivotal Aero, LLC in Palo Alto, CA seeks GNC Engineer (multiple positions).

Responsibilities: The GNC Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and testing software for guidance, navigation, and controls (GNC) systems for aircraft. Specific responsibilities include: designing control algorithms for vehicle systems; developing navigation systems to determine accurate position and direction; testing and validating control systems through simulations and real-world scenarios; collaborating with other engineering disciplines to integrate control systems; optimizing systems to achieve desired performance metrics; ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards; investigating and resolving issues related to vehicle dynamics and control; developing path planning algorithms for aircraft guidance; and other duties as assigned.

Education: Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field (or foreign equivalent).

Requirements: 2 years of experience in the job offered or related. Other special requirements: 2 years of experience working with programming languages such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C, or similar programming languages; 2 years of experience working with advanced mathematical engineering concepts such as stability and control theory, state estimation, nonlinear systems, rotation formalisms, sensor integration/fusion, or similar; 2 years of experience building and implementing software for mechanical components; and 2 years of experience building and implementing test software.
