We are searching for an experienced Sales Consultant (Relief) at our Sun Mountain facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The mission of the department of Sales is to retain and grow market share by selling the right products to customers while building loyalty and trust with MTA.

SUMMARY OF POSITION'S ROLE

The Sales Consultant (SC) supports and meets the departmental mission statement by serving residential customers on the phone or in person. The role of the Sales Consultant consists of four main areas in order of priority: 1) Achievement of Residential Sales Goals; 2) Superior Customer Service; 3) Teamwork; and 4) Professional Growth.

Achievement of Residential Sales Goals

Establishes good rapport with prospective and current customers

Ascertains and analyzes the needs of customers

Promotes MTA products and services

Meets sales goals for each product line

Promotes a positive image of MTA

Increases sales by cross selling, up-selling, and add ons

Promotes sales campaigns

Attends sales training

Identifies areas that need improvement in customer meetings and calls

Works toward fine-tuning sales abilities

Stays current on competitive information

Makes outbound calls to prospective, current and former customers, as directed

Meets regularly with Supervisor to discuss sales performance

Establishes action plan to improve sales skills

Engaged in active participant in all sales training programs

Superior Customer Service

Greets customers with a smile

Answers incoming Sales calls to MTA

Processes additions, deletions, and changes with accuracy in accordance with customer requests and MTA policies

Receives customer payments of cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, and other MTA approved forms of payments at specified retail locations

Process appropriate customer credits due to MTA error, promotional, retention or under direction of MTA management

Completes daily bank deposits and sales summaries accurately in specified retail locations

Distributes proper equipment and materials to customers in office

Performs special projects including, but not limited to, web hits, CS call backs, CS requests, voicemail messages, audit reports, and service orders

Maintains local office inventory of communications equipment and office supplies to ensure proper inventory levels to meet demands

Responds and resolves customer inquiries and complaints via approved mediums

Follows established processes and procedures to ensure technical accuracy

Performs duties independently and expeditiously while following MTA guidelines

Builds and improves customer satisfaction, loyalty, trust, and confidence in MTA

Analyzes situations and accurately recommends or implements effective solutions

Teamwork

Projects positive attitude

Supports team environment in department

Interacts with other departments to promote sales and excellent customer service

Participates in departmental and or company meetings

Assists with training of new SCs on products and procedures

Works toward increasing overall productivity

Performs special projects as directed by Supervisor

Stays informed on new service offerings, rates and tariffs

Manages time effectively

Remains current on MTA standards and procedures for processing

Attends product and process training for professional development

Identifies areas that need improvement in customer meetings and calls

Meets regularly with Supervisor to discuss sales performance

Establishes action plan to improve sales skills when directed

The Sales Consultant is also responsible for other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITES and SKILLS

Displays initiative and resourcefulness in assisting customers

Able to calm angry customers

Good customer etiquette, including friendliness and politeness

Pleasant speaking voice with clear articulation

Excellent skills in organization, multi-tasking, follow through, time management, and attention to details

Able to type with proficiency and accuracy using MTA approved software programs

Familiarity with office machines, such as 10-key calculators, copiers, printers, telephones, scanners, faxes, and personal and networked computers

Dresses professionally in accordance with the MTA policy

Attends work on a regular basis and on time in accordance with the MTA attendance policy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS

APPLICATION PROCESS:

A cover letter, resume, and the MTA Employment Application Form must be submitted to the MTA Department of Human Resources.

DRUG SCREENING:

MTA requires all applicants, who are offered positions at MTA, to submit a drug

screening exam as a condition of employment.

WORK SCHEDULES and REPORTING LOCATIONS:

SC work schedules may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends and the SC may be temporarily assigned to work at any MTA office in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

DRIVERS LICENSE:

Valid Alaskan Driver’s License required.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Two years of documented experience in inside sales, customer service, retail, or management preferred.
