Register Nurse - Psychiatric Unit position located Corona Regional Rehabilitation Center in Corona, CA Per Diem, shift position Reporting to the Nurse Manager and Director of Behavioral Health Services, this position will require accountability for the promotion, maintenance and restoration of health of patients assigned to his/her care. Utilizes specialized knowledge and skills in the application of nursing process skills to deliver quality care to the serious and persistent mental illness. Works in conjunction with the C harge Nurse and may function as Relief Charge Nurse, as needed.The tradition of caring that culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical CenterĀ® began in 1965, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center in 1992 and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. The merged hospitals are now a 238-bed community hospital network comprised of a 160-bed acute care hospital and a 78-bed rehabilitation campus. It is certified by The Joint Commission, employs more than 1,250 trained healthcare workers and has a medical staff of approximately 347 physicians representing more than 40 specialties.Qualifications ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLSKnowledge and understanding of psychiatric diagnosis(es), terminology and medical record charting. Ability to work with minimal supervision.MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCEAt least two (2) years experience working with clients with serious and persistent mental illness, preferably one of those years in an inpatient setting. Excellent verbal and written skills.MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAssaultive Behavior Management Training required within 90 days from date of hire.REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONSCurrent California RN license required.
