We are hiring a full-time kitchen manager/head cook with an enthusiasm for the culinary arts, a passion for hospitality and willingness to learn and take direction from management.

Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking and cleaning

Manage kitchen staff through scheduling, training and coaching

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health, nutrition, sanitation and safety regulations & standards; monitor food waste

Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure efficient functioning

Manage food quality control

Collaborate with management to develop and launch new menu items and offerings (seasonal, special launches)

Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed

Basic Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience as a kitchen manager/head cook

Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

Ability to read and write English

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Experience with kitchen operations

Experience with food prep, knife skills, and following recipes

Experience managing/leading kitchen staff

Customer service skills

Stellar communication & delegation skills

NJ based or have reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to work in high volume environment

Ability to remain calm in a high-pressure environment

Experience in catering, restaurant, or hospitality management is a plus

New York or New Jersey Food Handlers card or equivalent food handlers certification a plus. Open flame experience a plus.
